| Duties: | • Coordinates the screening, identification, placement and evaluation process.
• Assists principals in the selection of teachers of gifted students.
• Plans in-service training for gifted education teachers and other school personnel at the building level.
• Assists teachers in working with gifted students by providing them with the instructional materials and support.
• Supervises the elementary resource teacher of the gifted.
• Prepares the local plan for the gifted, the annual budget and the yearly final report.
• Coordinates the summer Enrichment Program.
• Coordinates local selection process for four governor's schools.
• Expends funds based on the projected annual budget designations.
• Meets with Local Advisory Committee to ensure that the committee gives advice on program policy and direction; and, to provide feedback on program implementation.
• Serves on regional committees and boards.
• Facilitates involvement of community in gifted education.
• Performs all clerical duties to include: computer entry of letters, memos, reports, course descriptions, budget, requisitions, cd's, travel, and documents; copies letters/memos, reports and documents.
• Coordinates special opportunities for all students.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

| Qualifications: | • Masters Degree in education.
• Collegiate Professional License.
• Graduate level coursework in Gifted Education.
• Four (4) years experience as teacher of gifted students.
• Add-on endorsement in Gifted Education.
