| Duties: | Demonstrates and understanding of the job description.
Possesses leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working affectively with pupils, teachers and parents.
Demonstrates the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written communications and effectively interacts with parents, pupils, other teachers, administrators, classified employees, and community.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of the English language in written and verbal content.
Demonstrates the responsibility for own professional growth by seeking continuing education and in-service training programs.
Demonstrates professionalism by working cooperatively wit other staff members using support services when needed; ensuring that oral communication are clear, accurate and grammatically correct, respecting the confidential nature of professional information; submitting reports accurately and punctually, and complying with administrative directives and school board policy.
Provides leadership in accomplishing various aspects of the federal programs such as testing needs assessments, curriculum development, instructional strategies, program evaluations and completing state/federal reports.
Studies all federal legislation, state projects and programs for the possibilities and opportunities they offer for educational grants, entitlements and allocations offered relevant to the needs of the district.
Informs, interprets and recommends to the assistant superintendent of instruction the effects of current and impending federal legislation, and prepares testimony for the school board concerning pending federal legislation.
Obtains information, data, and application forms necessary to fulfill the requirements of the NCLB consolidated grant application; convenes appropriate staff for input.
Develops the budgets and monitors the financial accounting systems for various federal and state programs through frequent and routine collaboration with the finance office.
Collaborates with the principal of the Early Childhood Learning Center to ensure appropriate coordination among the preschool programs housed at the center, including Head Start, Title I preschool program, Virginia Preschool Initiation, and the special education preschool program.
Works with preschool parent involvement leaders to ensure the formation and implementation of the Title I Parent Advisory Council,
Performs other duties as required.

| Qualifications: | MA/MS Degree
Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a teacher, administrator or supervisor at level to be supervised.
Successful completion of a minimum of fifteen semester hours with at least one graduate level course in each of the following:
1. Supervision of Instruction
2. Curriculum Development- appropriate to the level at which individual is endorsed.
3. School Administration
4. Teaching Material and Resources and Media
5. Evaluation of Instruction
Successful completion of courses dealing with group processes and understanding learning problems.
Possession of Postgraduate Professional License.
